Meet Dr Bishop
Dr. Christoper C. Bishop is a native of Overland Park, Kansas ( a suburb of Kansas City). After graduating from The University of Kansas with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Biology, he continued his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry, where he received his D.D.S. Degree in 1976. After graduation Dr. Bishop and his young family moved to North Central Idaho where he served in a healthcare provider shortage area of the state. He was the only dentist in a town of approximately 2,000 but served a local area encompassing 5,000 people for thirteen years, treating patients of all ages.
Dr. Bishop served on the staff of the Idaho State Hospital, providing dental care for a variety of special needs patients. Dr. Bishop also served as the staff dentist for six years at St. Mary's Hospital in Cottonwood, Idaho while he and his family lived and practiced there.
Dr. Bishop and his family moved to Arizona in 1989 and has been in private practice since that time. Since moving to Arizona he has treated more than 6,000 pediatric patients with severe dental needs, enrolled in the Arizona AHCCCS program. Dr. Bishop also has experience in treating special needs patients and has spent a number of years treating geriatric patients in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living homes and care facilities. Dr. Bishop is all about caring and creating trust. This includes doing whatever possible to make his patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Dr. Bishop and his wife Cindy celebrated their 40th anniversary this past summer. They live in Chandler, Arizona. Their two grown sons Scott and Chad live in Scottsdale. Their daughter Jennifer and her husband Scott live in Mesa with their two children Jack and Emma.
Dr. Bishop finds great enjoyment in most outdoor sports i.e. golf, trapshooting (he was the only civilan member of the United States Shooting Team at the 1967 World Shooting Championships, held in Bologna, Italy), skiing, fishing and his most recent interest, auto racing.
